Knitting and Ice Skating!

Hi everyone (read: Hi Sra),
Well, I've actually finished quite a bit lately--though I know Sra will say otherwise (I still haven't worked on her sweater lately...). I finished those two Slytherin scarves for Mindy and she has them. Also, her sister, Shel, commissioned another scarf, same as the Gryffindor and Slytherin ones except in black and hot pink. I've even started it already and I really like how it looks. I had a hell of a time finding hot pink yarn in a wool blend at an affordable price. I finally gave in and ordered Azalea Pink Wool-Ease from The Yarn Basket in Tecumseh. It looked hot pink in the magazine... In real life it looks more purple-ish. I'm hoping Shel likes it anyway, otherwise my mom offered to buy it for a friend of hers. So, really it doesn't matter one way or another. I'm already three stripe patterns in and I just started on Wednesday.

I also recently finished knitting a ribbed hat and fingerless mitts. I made the ribbed hat along with Michael. That's right. I got my brother to knit! And actually, he's pretty good! He surprised me. He picked up knitting faster than anyone else I've tried to teach. Sure he made a fair amount of beginners mistakes, but he recognized them as mistakes! That almost never happens. Usually I find out about mess-ups multiple rows later--after it's too late to do anything about it. So, anyway, his hat turned out really good for a first project and not bad at all as a project in general. He made it for Mindy for Christmas. I think she'll like it and hopefully she doesn't have a sudden urge to look up my blog and read about her Christmas gift before she gets it. Michael left a few hours ago to go stay with her for a few weeks so, she'll get it soon anyway.

Oh, and the fingerless mitts I made are going to Hannah eventually. Did I mention that I didn't do the finishing work for either of those projects? I take it I didn't. Yeah... did I mention that I really hate finishing work? grrr....

On to my ice skating experience! I was having a blast... until I fell, which was literally just as I was headed off the ice. The little pick section in the front of my figure skates caught on the ice somehow. I managed to not have a problem right up until then. *rolls eyes* Anyway, I was unlucky enough to fall right on my knee. I bruised it all up and then when I tried to get up and walk on it... I couldn't. Well, it hurt really bad anyway. It's only gotten a little bit better. It still hurts. :( I still want to go ice skating again when my knee heals though! It was fun.

Lastly, I recently joined Ravelry and my username on there is Somethingwithtail. There's no a because I couldn't put that many letters in unfortunately. I'm sure that's going to get annoying quick, but I didn't want to change it completely. I happen to like my username a lot!

Toodles!
